Equipment

  • Citrus Juicer, for extracting fresh blood orange juice
  • Fine Mesh Strainer, to strain juice and tea
  • Measuring Spoon, for mulberry powder
  • Glass or Jar, for serving

Ingredients

  • 2 blood oranges freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon dried mulberry leaves or 1 teaspoon mulberry leaf powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or stevia optional, for sweetness
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • Optional: a few drops of lemon juice for brightness

Instructions

  • Prepare the mulberry leaf base:
  • Steep the dried mulberry leaves in hot (not boiling) water for 5–7 minutes. If using powder, dissolve 1 teaspoon into warm water.
  • Juice the blood oranges:
  • Squeeze the blood oranges and strain the juice to remove seeds and excess pulp.
  • Mix:
  • Combine the blood orange juice with the mulberry tea base. Stir well.
  • Sweeten (optional):
  • Add honey or stevia if a sweeter drink is preferred. Stir again.
  • Serve:
  • Enjoy immediately over ice or refrigerate for later.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness depending on your preference.
  • Blood oranges vary slightly in flavor, some are more tart, others sweeter.
  • Mulberry leaf powder blends smoother than whole dried leaves, but both work great!
