Citrus Juicer, for extracting fresh blood orange juice
Fine Mesh Strainer, to strain juice and tea
Measuring Spoon, for mulberry powder
Glass or Jar, for serving
- 2 blood oranges freshly squeezed
- 1 tablespoon dried mulberry leaves or 1 teaspoon mulberry leaf powder
- 1 tablespoon honey or stevia optional, for sweetness
- 1 cup filtered water
- Optional: a few drops of lemon juice for brightness
Prepare the mulberry leaf base:
Steep the dried mulberry leaves in hot (not boiling) water for 5–7 minutes. If using powder, dissolve 1 teaspoon into warm water.
Juice the blood oranges:
Squeeze the blood oranges and strain the juice to remove seeds and excess pulp.
Mix:
Combine the blood orange juice with the mulberry tea base. Stir well.
Sweeten (optional):
Add honey or stevia if a sweeter drink is preferred. Stir again.
Serve:
Enjoy immediately over ice or refrigerate for later.
-
You can adjust the sweetness depending on your preference.
-
Blood oranges vary slightly in flavor, some are more tart, others sweeter.
-
Mulberry leaf powder blends smoother than whole dried leaves, but both work great!
