Equipment

  • Grill – for grilling the skewers
  • Skewers – wooden or metal
  • Small saucepan – to make the glaze
  • Basting brush – for brushing on the butter sauce
  • ixing bowls – for marinating the shrimp
  • Tongs – to flip the shrimp while grilling

Ingredients

  • Shrimp:
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Wooden or metal skewers
  • Garlic Lemon Butter Glaze:
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced

Instructions

  • Prep the skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Marinate the shrimp: In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Toss until shrimp are evenly coated.
  • Make the glaze: Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in lemon juice and parsley. Remove from heat.
  • Skewer the shrimp: Thread 4–5 shrimp onto each skewer, leaving a little space between each one.
  • Grill the shrimp: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill skewers for 2–3 minutes on each side until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  • Brush with glaze: As the shrimp grill, brush them with the garlic lemon butter using a basting brush for extra flavor.
  • Serve hot: Remove from grill and serve immediately with your favorite sides or over rice.

Notes

  • You can add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade for a spicy kick.
  • Serve these shrimp with grilled veggies, a fresh salad, or buttery rice for a complete meal.
  • Metal skewers work great and don’t need soaking.
